About Skiing and Snowboarding in Chamonix
Chamonix, and its world-class ski areas are the most easily accessible in France with the highway coming directly to the town centre in approximately only an hour.
Chamonix nestles in a valley surrounded by unforgettable scenery. It is a fascinating and traditional alpine resort made famous because of the magnificent Mont-Blanc. The lively and cosmopolitan town offers a great range of attractions and activities. Both winter and summer seasons attract thousands of people from all over the world. The different ski resorts cater for all levels of skiers and snowboards, not forgetting the fantastic descent of the Vallee Blanche.
Chamonix's 3 main ski areas cover most of the valley up to Vallorcine, with over 108km of piste. There are 69 pistes including: 10 black pistes, 20 red, 28 blue and 8 green, and 2 areas for new snow sports.

Situated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges, Chamonix shares the summit of Mont Blanc with its neighboring commune of Courmayeur in Italy, and owns the title of highest commune in France.
